Reviews, New Music, and Hoodie Preorder

This week, we saw the return of music reviews from @DMJ654 beginning with the album “Colors” from Alice’s Emotion. For the uninformed, DMJ joined Gensokyo Radio back in 2013 as a music reviewer, though most of our listeners will know him as a co-host on our programs such as Gensokyo Radio Live, Stage 5, and Meetups. An archive of reviews and user comments can be found in our recently revived News and Reviews categories on the forum, and that’s also where you’ll be able to read new reviews moving forward. If you’re interested in music (and we know you are since you’re here), we encourage folks to give it a read and leave a comment to let him know what you think.

Additionally, DMJ wrote an article which dives into a very personal topic, but overall it helps to explain the gap between this most recent review and the one that came before—over five years ago. It is a classic “wall of text” but may be worth a read for anyone who wants a look behind the curtain and into the mind of our most outspoken host.

On the station front, music mentioned last week has been filtered and placed into the regular rotation (refer to last week’s news for the circle list). Collectively, we’re looking at a three-digit number of albums to ingest, and we’re also putting in an order for additional albums this week. It’s rare that we’ve got so much music to actively work with, but that also means you can expect to hear more new music over the coming weeks and months. We hope you’ll continue to let us know what you think by rating songs and submitting feedback, it helps us out!

Our latest broadcast of Gensokyo Radio Live (#115: The Show Where We Wing It) will be made public tomorrow afternoon, so if you missed out last weekend, you’ll be able to tune in to one of our most laid-back shows in terms of planning in a long time. We enjoyed it, and we hope you will, too!

Finally, our Gensokyo Radio hoodies are currently available for preorder! These hoodies will primarily be printed on Bella + Canvas brand hoodies which are great for cool summer days and layering up in the colder winter months. The material is similar to that of a long-sleeve shirt, but with some of the niceties of a hoodie including large kangaroo-style front pockets and, well, a hood obviously. For early orders, we’re also offering a free upgrade to an American Apparel hoodie which is a thicker style of hoodie better suited for cooler seasons. These are only offered in limited sizes since our provider is currently clearing their stock of these hoodies, so if you want one, grab one soon! Both hoodies are offered in black and dark gray. Thanks to everyone who has pre-ordered so far, we’ll continue to accept pre-orders through May 1st.

That’s all for this week. Go check out some music reviews if you want, and thanks for listening!
