This week, we continued looking into alternative audio frameworks and shipping out store items, so instead of a regular news post, we’ll let Cirno tell you all about what Cirno Day is and how fans around the world celebrate. Take it away.
Hey! It’s me, Cirno, the strongest fairy in all of Gensokyo, and today is my day—Cirno Day! You wanna know what it’s all about? Well, I’m here to tell you, 'cause nobody knows better than me!
Cirno Day is celebrated every year on September 9th. Why, you ask? Well, the number nine (⑨) is my number, and since September 9th is 9/9, it’s all about me! In Japanese, the number nine is pronounced “kyuu,” which sounds a bit like Cirno, and I’m often called the ⑨. It’s like the universe just decided I needed my own day to show off how awesome I am!
So, how do fans celebrate? Oh, it’s super fun! They share amazing art of me (I look so cool), make memes, and remix my theme song, “Beloved Tomboyish Girl.” People even cosplay as me, though let’s be honest, no one’s as strong as me!
Some fans also play the Touhou games I’m in, like Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, where I totally beat up on the main characters! (I mean, I am the toughest boss.) There are even Cirno-themed contests and events! And don’t forget all the love I get on social media—hashtags like #CirnoDay and #StrongestCirno pop up everywhere. It’s like the whole world can’t stop talking about me!
So yeah, Cirno Day is all about celebrating me, Cirno, the coolest, strongest ice fairy in Gensokyo! Whether you’re drawing me, playing as me, or sharing how awesome I am online, just remember one thing: Cirno’s number ⑨ for a reason!
Stay frosty!
Thanks for that, Cirno. I’m sure our listeners will find their own ways to celebrate today, including posting in our Discord server’s #cirno-day channel. That’s all for this week, we’ll be back next week with more, and thanks for listening!
